Money Coach for Creatives2022-04-12T08:38:01-07:00

I’m a creative just like you, and I’ve spent more than a decade developing the knowledge and skills necessary to finance my creative life. I want to share what I’ve learned with my fellow creatives. I can help you maximize your money and build a strong financial foundation to achieve your personal and creative goals.

Armed with degrees in Business and Theatre and 10 years experience in non-profit arts administration, I took the leap to pursue my acting career full time. Three years later, I’m still living my dream. I work for myself and I’m financially secure.

Are you ready to create your own sustainable financial future? Let’s get started today!

I can help you chart your course to a financial future that provides the security and freedom to live your creative dreams.

We’ll meet once a week in an intimate online group setting (limited to four people) for four
consecutive weeks. During these 60-90 minute sessions, we’ll explore essential tips and topics
to build and strengthen your financial foundation. I’ll be accessible to you once a week during
“office hours” to provide additional support and accountability.

You pick the topics (budgeting, saving, goal-setting, paying off debt) and we’ll work together to develop actionable steps for your unique needs during a 25-minute one-on-one online session. You’ll also receive 15 days of email support after your session.

This coaching is geared for those who are interested in more in-depth coaching. Whether that is more accountability or establishing better money habits or a more comprehensive understanding of their money situation. Each month we’ll meet for your private 1 hour one-on-one coaching to discuss your goals and actionable next steps. Plus email support from day one through 30 days following your final session. Minimum commitment is 3 months.

I am so happy I was referred to Des during this quarantine. I was very confused with the government relief funds as they continued to roll out with little information. Des was on top of the most up-to date information and she broke it down in a way that was very easy to understand. She gave me educated recommendation on where I should spend and where I should save during this unprecedented time. Her advice was financially responsible and realistic for my temporary unemployment plan. She even gave me some bonus advice that bumped my credit score up 31 points! I will continue to consult with her after the pandemic. Highly recommended!

Working with Desiree makes a difference to your well being. Numbers are unavoidable and there’s power in knowing how to tame them. I’ve worked with Desiree for months now and whether your financial goals are big and involve words I don’t understand or you just need to get organized with your finance chaos Des is a great coach. She’s peaceful, supportive, resourceful and excited to share what she knows at any level. I’m so thankful of my time with her and will absolutely reach out again.

Avery C., Actor and Founder/Owner of Clyde City

Working with Des was honestly the best thing I could’ve done for my money. I’m very excited to set budget goals! Normally I tend to spiral about money due to survival job anxieties and still wanting to live life, but now I’m energized and determined to create set expenses I can live by and create balance. Your class made me feel more in control that by even doing the little things it will help out my financial health A LOT.

I worked with Des through her Small Group Coaching and Private Coaching programs. In the Small Coaching program, Des provides a safe space for people to talk about their finances. She meets each person where they are and is able to address them individually while providing knowledge for the entire group. I learned so much by participating in our group discussions. After that, I continued with Des through her Private Coaching program. She empowers her clients to work through uncomfortable feelings around money and provides an action plan every week. She supports her clients by celebrating every small victory which is something I carry with me today. I am so happy I got the chance to work with her!

--- Julia D., Actor, Clown, Teacher

I first took Des’s Small Group Class, which informed me of the different aspects of managing my own finances as an actor. After taking some time to apply the skills learned from the group class, I decided to work with her again through her Private Money Coaching program!

Des is exceptionally knowledgeable in dealing with finances as a creative. At the same time, she is simply amazing at working with the specific needs and circumstances of each and every individual she works with. After finishing my private coaching, I felt more than confident and empowered to move forward with a financial plan that Des and I discussed together. Des offers professional, realistic advice in a safe, encouraging and generous way.

I am incredibly grateful to have had this opportunity to learn about my finances with her guidance, and most certainly will be back to work with her again!

Jen K., Actor

Desiree is a thoughtful guide to helping you make sense of your finances. She offers practical advice and asks you to really think about your spending habits. I feel much more empowered to tackle how I manage and budget my money!

Kendra C., Actor

Wow. I thought I had a handle on my money but Des showed me how to get the clearest picture of my finances so that I could be in full control of my spending and investment habits. She gave me the tools to continue growing and always promptly provided in-depth, researched answers to my questions about choosing IRAs vs 401ks, selecting banks, and she guided me through my new tracking software. If you’re looking for someone for a safe environment to talk about your personal finances, I cannot stress enough how valuable this investment is for you.

I don’t know if I’m ready for a coach?2020-11-17T08:43:13-08:00

Just like hiring a personal trainer or a private acting coach, a money coach meets you where you are. There is no “wrong” time to get financial coaching. During our free discovery call we’ll be able to determine if I am the right coach to help you reach your goals. If not, I’m happy to refer you to other resources.

How do we meet?2020-12-21T16:06:05-08:00

All small group classes and private coaching sessions will be via an online platform.

I’m not sure if a Small Group Coaching or Private Coaching is best for me.2020-12-24T15:11:24-08:00

People learn in different environments. This is something we can discuss on your discovery call to see what works best for you. In general, Small Group Coaching is much more structured. Private coaching is 100% tailored to YOUR needs. Sign up for your free Intro Session to learn more.

What if I need to reschedule my Private Coaching Session?2020-12-21T16:15:31-08:00

Life happens. Private Coaching sessions can be rescheduled with 24 hours advanced notice a maximum of two times.

If you are late to your scheduled meeting, you will not be able to make up that time during your session. It is advised that you get on the call early to ensure a good connection.  If you are more than 15-minutes late without prior notice, you forfeit your session and will not be eligible to make it up.

Are you a financial advisor?2020-11-17T08:45:23-08:00

I am not. I’m a fellow creative who loves talking about, reading about, and learning about money and wants to share the insights I’ve learned and habits I’ve put in place in my life that have helped me build a strong financial foundation.

**Please note that I am not a certified financial planner (“CFP”) or a financial advisor and that nothing in our sessions constitutes legal or financial advice. Therefore, I am not legally allowed to tell you what to invest in, how to invest, or when to invest.**

What kind of payment do you accept?2020-12-21T16:18:07-08:00

Payment can be made through Zelle or Venmo and is due prior to all sessions.
